Although classical music had always been a large part of my life, it was only at the age of 15 that I began studying the piano seriously. I studied under Francis Rose during my final years of high school and in 2003 began my bachelor's degree in music at McGill University where I studied piano under Susan Telner and composition under Jean Lesage.
In my second year at McGill I
studied musical form under William Caplin. This encounter greatly influenced my theoretical writings and encouraged me to study, in detail, the works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. In the years that followed I studied harmony, counterpoint, and composition under Juilliard graduate Alan Belkin. His teachings have had the most significant influence of anyone on my present compositions and theoretical studies.
I am currently working on several projects to further enhance my website.
